The Role of a Project Manager

Project Managers are responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for an organization while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope. The project manager sits between the client and the project (which also includes the various stakeholders involved in that project). Here are some of the tasks that a project manager will be responsible for:

  • Project scope development.
  • Mapping project milestones, deliverables and dependencies.
  • Developing cost control systems to manage the project budget.
  • Identifying and managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing contracts and leading the procurement of project team members.
  • Managing the design development process.
  • Assessing project risks.
  • Construction execution and monitoring.
  • Managing the project handover process and final account.
